Delete your account

How to delete your Platesmith account and everything synced to it, what goes and what stays.

In the app

  1. Open Platesmith and go to Settings.
  2. Under Account, tap Delete account and data, then confirm.

Your account and everything synced to it are deleted from Platesmith's server (api.platesmith.app) straight away and for good. You are signed out on every phone. There is no waiting period and nothing to undo.

If you signed in with Apple or Google, you can also remove Platesmith's access to that account:

  • Apple: on an iPhone, Settings, then your name, then Sign in with Apple. Anywhere else, sign in at account.apple.com and open Sign in with Apple.
  • Google: myaccount.google.com, under Security, Your connections to third-party apps and services.

Deleting your account does not cancel a Platesmith Coach subscription. Cancel it on iPhone in Settings, under your name, then Subscriptions, or on Android in the Play Store, under Subscriptions.

If you can't open the app

Email privacy@platesmith.app from the email address on your account and ask us to delete it. If you signed in with Apple or with a passkey and we don't have your email, tell us how you signed in and roughly when, and we will work out with you that the account is yours. We delete it within 30 days.

What is deleted

  • Your account: your sign-in details from Apple or Google, your email and password hash, your passkeys' public keys, your name, and your sign-in sessions.
  • Everything you synced: programs, workouts, food log, custom foods and exercises, saved meals, recipes, meal plans, targets, habits, check-ins, health-question answers, body measurements, your profile and your settings.
  • Your link to a coach, if you had one, and the changes your coach made.

What is kept

  • Server backups: copies in our daily encrypted backups expire within 14 days. A monthly backup copy can hold it for up to six months and is only ever used to rebuild the server after a failure.
  • Your coach's copy: if you linked a coach on Platesmith Coaching, what was already shared with them (workouts, weigh-ins and food logs) stays in your coaching record there, as part of your coaching history. Ask your coach or privacy@platesmith.app to delete it too.
  • Subscription records: if you subscribed to Platesmith Coach, we keep the App Store's or Google Play's identifier for the subscription, with how much of each month's coaching allowance it used and any periods Apple or Google refunded, after the account is gone, linked to nothing else about you, so a subscription can't be used to get the allowance or a refunded period twice.
  • Your phone: the copy of your log in the app stays until you delete the app. Backup files you saved yourself stay where you saved them until you delete them.

If you used Platesmith without an account, nothing ever reached our server: deleting the app and any backup file you made removes everything.
