Train
A logger that keeps up
Big tap targets, last time's numbers on every row, plate maths, warm-ups and supersets built in.
Progression that does the maths
Reps, then load. Load every session. By effort. Each program knows how to move the weight.
1,539 exercises
From barbell to bodyweight, each with how-to steps, the muscles it works and swaps for your equipment.
131 programs
Full-body first months, upper/lower, push/pull/legs, five-week mesocycles and strength waves.
Rest timer everywhere
On the Lock Screen, in the Dynamic Island and on Apple Watch, so the phone stays in your pocket.
Eat
Meal plans that fit
Targets set from your goal, then a plan to hit them: high protein, vegetarian, or simple and cheap.
Scan and done
Point the camera at a barcode. Foods are matched on your phone first, and only the barcode is looked up.
Track
See the trend, not the noise
Daily weigh-ins smoothed into a trend line, with strength, volume and measurements beside it.
Habits and check-ins
Small daily habits, a weekly check-in and private progress photos that never leave your phone.
Works with Apple Health
Finished workouts and bodyweight go to Apple Health. Steps, sleep and heart rate show beside your training.

From the first session to the hundredth.
Pick a starting point and Platesmith handles the maths: what to lift, what to eat and when to push.
Every set counts. Every best is kept.
The old gym notebook, minus the maths. Platesmith remembers what you lifted, works out what's next and marks every personal best.
- Last time on every row
Your previous weight and reps sit beside each set, so you always know what to beat.
- Next time, worked out
Hit the top of the range and the weight goes up. Fall short and it holds. You just lift.
- Bests for every rep count
Heaviest single, best five, estimated 1-rep max: all kept, all charted.
Take a look inside.

Platesmith is made by one independent developer in South Australia. There is nothing to sell, so we don't collect it.
I'm Tom. I built Platesmith because I wanted one app for my training and my food that didn't sell my data or lock the basics behind a paywall. I make it on my own, and I read every email.
No account needed
Use it fully offline. Without an account, nothing you log ever reaches us.
No ads, analytics or tracking
Not in the app and not on this website. Your data is never sold.
Health data stays on your iPhone
Anything read from Apple Health is never uploaded, synced, backed up or exported.
Sync on our own service
With an account, your log syncs to a server we run on Cloudflare, not an ad-funded cloud database.
Leave whenever you like
Export everything, or delete your account and its data from Settings in two taps.
Bring your history.
Export a CSV from Strong, Hevy or FitNotes and import it in Settings. Exercises are matched by name, so years of training come with you on day one. And you can take everything back out as CSV whenever you like.
Questions, answered.

Is it really free?
Yes. Everything on this page is free, with no ads. An optional paid AI coach may come later, but nothing that is free now will become paid.
I've never lifted before. Is this for me?
Yes. Tell Platesmith you're new and it starts you on a simple full-body plan with guided warm-ups, how-to steps for every exercise and a short reason behind each target. More detail opens up as you get stronger.
Do I need an account?
No. Use it without one and everything stays on your iPhone, with an optional backup to your own iCloud Drive. Sign in with Apple, Google, an email address or a passkey if you want your log synced and safe if you change phones.
Does it work without signal?
Yes. Logging, programs, the exercise library, food search and the rest timer all work offline. Changes sync when you are back online.
Can I move my history from Strong, Hevy or FitNotes?
Yes. Export a CSV from the other app and import it in Platesmith. Exercises are matched by name, and anything new is added as a custom exercise.
When can I get it?
Platesmith is coming soon to the App Store. iPhone and Apple Watch come first, and you can try the free beta on TestFlight today.
Is there an Android version?
Yes, after iPhone. iPhone and Apple Watch come first, then Android on Google Play, with the same programs, logger and food tracking, and sync between the two if you sign in.
Who can use Platesmith?
Adults aged 18 and over. It gives general training and nutrition guidance, not medical advice.
Have a coach? Bring them in.
If your coach uses Platesmith Coaching, enter the code they give you in Settings. They can update your program and targets, and you get a note saying what changed. They see your workouts, food and check-ins; Apple Health data, habits and photos are never shared, and you can unlink at any time.
Your next PR starts here.
Platesmith is coming soon to the App Store. Until then, the free beta on TestFlight is open to anyone with an iPhone.
Coming soon. iPhone and Apple Watch first. Android after.
